Roanoke Valley Reads’ 2017 signature event, Finding Life in the Face of Death will take place on Wednesday, November 1, from 7 – 9 PM in Blue Ridge Literacy auditorium in the downtown Roanoke Main Library.
The keynote speaker will be Dr. Thomas Milam, a psychiatrist with Carilion. Chaplains from two area hospices will be joined by hospice patients, discussing death and dying from a front-line and first-hand perspective. It’s sure to be a powerful conversation about a topic that affects us all.
About the 2017 Read: This year the chosen book is the profoundly moving, award-winning When Breath Becomes Air by Dr. Paul Kalanithi. This book has touched thousands of lives.The Roanoke Valley Reads 2017 events do not require reading of When Breath Becomes Air, but will be enhanced by doing so.
