Hear Sunil Yapa, author of Your Heart is a Muscle the Size of a Fist, at the following free events this week.

  • Reading – Thursday, 10/4 at 8:15 in the Visual Arts Center, Hollins University
  • Q & A – Friday, 10/5 at 11:00 in the Wyndham Robertson Library, Hollins University
  • Talk – “Radical Empathy” – Friday 10/5 at 4 PM, Cityworks (X)po, Patrick Henry, 611 South Jefferson

Then, participate in the Positive Action Poster Making Party at the Taubman Museum, part of Roanoke’s Art by Night on Friday, 10/5, from 5:30-8:30 PM. On Saturday attend the final day of Cityworks (X)po .

Set during one day of the 1999 World Trade Organization (WTO) protests, Your Heart is a Muscle the Size of a Fist by Sunil Yapa weaves through multiple perspectives exploring the question of what we stand up for, what we defend, and how we do it.
