The New Connections book club held its first discussion of Richard Rothstein’s The Color of Law last Thursday and will meet again at the Roanoke Main Library at 6:30 PM. Add the Facebook event to your calendar.
Fifteen people came to the meeting and began the discussion around national policies that created as well as reinforced systems that intentionally segregated communities across the country from the northeast to San Francisco.
If you missed the first meeting, but are reading or have read the book, join the discussion Thursday evening. The next two discussion will focus on the following chapters:
- Thursday, April 11, 6:30 PM: Chapters 5-9 (through page 151)
- Thursday, April 18, 6:30 PM: Chapters 10-12, epilogue & FAQ (through page 239)★
