Several local authors participated in the 23rd annual Virginia Festival of the Book. A program of the Virginia Center for the Book and produced by the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities, the event attracts more than 20,000 participants over 5 days.
Beth Macy, Elizabeth Poliner, and Cathryn Hankla read from recent works and sold books. Melody Warnick was a featured participant through the Festival Writer Residency program. And in the Lit Fair, Jeri Rogers represented Artemis Journal.
