Join New Connections Book Club for a discussion of Robin DiAngelo’s White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism. The group will meet twice to discuss the book, which Claudia Rankin says, “brings language to the emotional structures that make true discussions about racial attitudes difficult.”

The group, which is welcoming and open to all, will meet for one hour each on the following dates:
Thursday, July 25, 6:30 PM
South County Library
6303 Merriman Road
Introduction through chapter 4 (through page 69)
Thursday, August 1, 6:30 PM
South County Library
6303 Merriman Road
Chapters 5 through 12 (pages 71 through 154)
New Connections Book Club is dedicated to understanding the issues and language that connect us and separate us in order to live better together as a community. Sign up for updates on what the group is reading, or just start reading the book and come down to South County Library on Thursday, Aug 25.

Hi Doug—What a timely topic. If there is any interest in additional resources, Gary Howard has been exploring this issue for a while. http://www.ghequityinstitute.com/ We’re there in spirit…:-)!Linda
