Novelist and short story writer Karen E. Bender will offer an online creative writing workshop in support of area feeding efforts on April 25th.
The workshop will focus on writing sensory detail and will take place from 2 to 3:30 PM.
The workshop will benefit Feeding Southwest Virginia, an organization founded in 1981 to fight hunger and change lives through community partnerships. For the last three decades the food bank’s ultimate mission has remained the same: eliminate hunger in the region.
Karen E. Bender teaches at Hollins University and is the author most recently of The New Order, a collection of short stories. Her collection Refund was a finalist for the National Book Award. Read an earlier interview with Bender here.
